Job Prospects

The job prospect of aerospace engineers is directly related to the aerospace product and parts manufacturing trends. It is expected that the number of aerospace engineers should increase greatly in coming years.

Employment oppurtunities mainly come from employment increase, but also job positions that were once occupied by retired engineers or engineers who obtained a promotion to management positions.

Speaking of promotion, many experienced aerospace engineers get promoted to management positions related to technical consulting, sales or marketing (ex. aerospace project manager).

In addition, it is expected that in the next few years the percentage of women engineers (11% in 2006) is going to increase, since about 15% of the new graduates in mechanical and aerospace engineering are women
